TAIPEI, TAIWAN — (Marketwire) — 06/04/12 — Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for home entertainment, connectivity and control, today announced its next generation CG2210 HomePlug AV solution, will be used by Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan-s largest service provider, for delivering IPTV services in consumer homes. The CG2210-based product, provided by Comtrend, is a wall mount adapter that plugs into the electrical outlets inside the home and delivers HD quality video across electrical wiring. The selection of the Sigma-based solution followed a rigorous product evaluation process, in which the Comtrend PG-9141 HomePlug AV power line adapters passed acceptance tests and met Chunghwa-s set of technical requirements.
