Avaya IP Office Delivers Significant TCO Benefits for Mid-Sized Business Collaboration in Independent Lab Test

Avaya today announced the results of a study by leading independent test lab Tolly Group, which found that the company-s Avaya IP Office collaboration solution outweighed the competition, delivering significant Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits to the small and medium enterprise (SME) market. TCO represents the actual cost of owning a product over a period of five years, and includes the cost of acquisition, installation, power consumption and maintenance.

Tolly evaluated the latest version of Avaya IP Office in mid-size enterprise environments of 100, 400 and 700 users versus a Shoretel unified communications platform(1) of the same size. In the independent commissioned by Avaya, Tolly found that Avaya IP Office 8.1 received top marks, delivering an average of 32 percent TCO savings for this market. The calculations included a savings of 38 percent for 100-employee firms; 29 percent for 400 employees; and 30 percent for 700 employees.

The Avaya IP Office collaboration solution meets the needs of small and mid-size businesses, home offices, and branch offices of large enterprises by enabling employees to unify feature-rich communications using their device of choice. In addition to TCO benefits, Avaya IP Office was cited in the Tolly Group report for ease-of-use and fast installation, stating: “Tolly engineers found that Avaya IP Office 8.1 easily scales as businesses grow in both size and requirements by simply adding phones and applications.” Additionally, the report cited further simplification through “the inclusion of the one-X Portal client… to allow easy and secure access to the Avaya telephony, messaging, mobility and conferencing applications.”

30 percent lower upfront costs, including lower costs for phones, licenses and hardware.

33 percent lower maintenance costs over five years.

41 percent less energy consumption for phones.
