Sunny prospects for translation management at SMA and Plunet

Niestetal / Berlin – November 2008 – For more than 25 years, SMA has been setting new industry standards in the area of decentralized and renewable energy supply technology. With over 2500 employees on four continents and a growing network of subsidiaries and regional offices, the listed company plays a key role in shaping the global development of solar technology.

As new international markets have been opened up and the company has grown accordingly, the volume of translation work has also risen dramatically in recent years. In order to keep up with this development, the translation management team at SMA decided to introduce BusinessManager from Plunet at the start of 2008 as a central project and workflow management solution. “We acquired Plunet BusinessManager at exactly the right time. Every year we have thousands of translation projects which can now be planned, controlled and processed more efficiently with the new software”, explains Gerald Salisbury, head of translation management at SMA.

Thanks to its flexibility and ability to adapt to company-specific workflow structures, BusinessManager from Plunet offers tremendous advantages for translation service providers in particular. It therefore comes as no surprise that Plunet CEO Stefan Dümig also sees huge potential for the future: “We are working very hard and with great focus to provide our customers with the best possible tool for their day-to-day project work. The message is now getting through to the market, and as a result our prospects are sunny, not just in terms of SMA.”
