Protomed and Socket Mobile Partner to Provide Long-Term Care Facilities With Electronic Medication Administration Records on the Apple(R) iPad(R)

The collaboration combines the barcode scanner with Protomed-s cloud-based medication administration application for the Apple iPad, known as . The combined solution enables long-term care facilities to increase medication compliance, prevent drug waste, and better conform to medication administration regulations.

The CHS 7Xi is a high-performance 2D barcode scanner certified by Apple for the iPad and other iOS devices. Using the CHS 7Xi and iPad at the point of care, nurses or other care providers can quickly verify patients- medicines, which have been packaged with Protomed-s Biodose dosage monitoring system. Drug administration is automatically recorded with a timestamp for government audits. Clinical staff can also use the solution to check in drug inventory received from the pharmacy, saving significant amounts of time. Protomed is actively promoting the solution to its Biodose customers, which include hundreds of nursing homes in Europe and North America, serving more than 35,000 patients each year.
