Couchbase Expands Operations, Brings Advanced NoSQL Technology to EMEA

LONDON — (Marketwire) — 03/22/12 — Couchbase, Inc., the NoSQL database leader, today announced the expansion of its operations to EMEA with the addition of a local business development and customer support team. The newly formed Couchbase EMEA, which will be headquartered in the UK, puts resources closer to EMEA customers and better positions the company to support the growing demand for Couchbase NoSQL technology in the region.

“As we kick off CouchConf London today, we-re excited to talk about our official expansion into Europe,” said Bob Wiederhold, CEO, Couchbase. “Global NoSQL adoption is growing quickly, and EMEA-based customers represent about 20 percent of our worldwide business today. With the UK as our regional center of operations, we can better support the data management needs of our growing customer base, build out a regional ecosystem of partners that will help drive customer success, and engage more meaningfully with our community of developers and users across EMEA.”

Couchbase NoSQL database technology enables a more flexible, scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective approach to data management than relational database solutions and is particularly well suited for web applications deployed on virtualized or cloud infrastructures, and for applications requiring real-time data synchronization between devices and the cloud.
