MOST Cooperation Exhibits at the 1st International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo (CAR ELE J

The MOST Cooperation – the organization through which the leading automotive multimedia network Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) is standardized – will be exhibiting at the 1st International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo (CAR ELE) show in Tokyo, Japan. MOST50 and MOST150 demonstrations will be shown at booth East 19-36 on January 28 to 30, 2009, in the East Hall 1 at the Tokyo Big Sight. MOST50 is already on the road and MOST150 is making its way into future vehicles.

On Friday, January 30th, Dr. Christian Thiel, Administrator of the MOST Cooperation, will give the presentation “Carmakers from Europe and Asia Integrate MOST as the Standard for Multimedia Networking in Vehicles” at 13:30 in the Technical Conference Session “The Most Recent Trends in In-vehicle Network for Ever-evolving Automobiles”. MOST Cooperation at CAR ELE JAPAN 2009

Date: January 28 – 30, 2009
Time: 10:00 – 18:00 (Jan 30 until 17:00)
Place: Tokyo Big Sight | East Hall 1
Booth: East 19-36

The most significant feature of MOST50 is that it allows electrical implementations instead of using plastic optical fiber (POF). The “MOST Specification of Electrical Physical Layer 1V1” is a further key specification the Cooperation offers its partners and members. It enables data transmission over an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) of copper wires while meeting stringent automotive electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The MOST50 Technology has been in production at a major Japanese car maker since 2007.

In addition to higher bandwidth, MOST150 features an isochronous transport mechanism to support extensive video applications, as well as an Ethernet channel for efficient seamless transport of IP-based packet data. Thus, MOST150 provides the automotive-ready physical layer for Ethernet in the car. The demonstration will showcase the high bandwidth efficiency of MOST150, as well as high-speed Ethernet packet transport, multi-channel video streaming from HDD, as well as isochronous streaming of HDTV and SDTV.
