The roots of this modern firm go back to 1928 with a small CPA firm in Champaign, IL. James Sikich, chief operating officer, began his career at this CPA firm in 1971. However, it was in 1982, through the merger one location from this small CPA firm with a national CPA firm, when Sikich Gardner & Co was formed. The firm was later rebranded as Sikich LLP.
Since 1982, Sikich has seen steady growth that can largely be attributed to its more than 400 talent employees who work in eight offices. In fact, in the past five years, Sikich has become the 47th largest accounting firm in the country, jumping from 74th in 2007.
