(LBT), a leading developer of intelligent power and control electronics for solid state lighting (SSL), today announced the release of its ultra-compatible deep dimming LED Driver at Lightfair International 2012. The is targeted at North American and Japanese lighting fixture manufacturers. Dimmer compatibility is a significant challenge in both retrofit and new build SSL applications because of the wide variation seen in conventional triac dimmers. LBT-s advanced firmware algorithms ensure industry leading compatibility across the entire range of triac dimmers.

Deep dimming, to 1% and below, is very important due to the human eye-s perception of 1% power output as 10% light output. Specified at 25W, with a selectable 700mA or 1000mA constant current output, LBT-s UC LED driver delivers unsurpassed deep dimming quality and dimmer compatibility for SSL fixtures. The UC LED driver delivers this deep dimming capability without the flicker and pops associated with other solutions.
The selectable drive currents and corresponding forward voltages are optimized for use with the Xicato XSM line of LED light modules. “The dimming performance and compatibility of the LBT UC LED driver are consistent with the high quality of light the Xicato modules deliver,” says Mark Pugh, Xicato-s President, “and we expect that our OEMs will appreciate a driver solution that-s easy to spec and provides great flexibility.”
