Experts to Address Earned Value Management and Agile Development

BREA, CA — (Marketwire) — 05/03/12 — Management Technologies- Ray W. Stratton, PMP, EVP, will be moderating a panel discussion on the application of Earned Value Management (EVM) to Agile software development projects. The panel discussion will be held on May 30, the first day of EVM World® 2012 in Naples, FL.

Agile Development-s key principles include rapid deployment of required capabilities. The capabilities are continually updated by new/revised stakeholder interests. Developed in 2001, Agile Development is promoted as a means to provide desired capabilities sooner and more closely aligned with an evolving environment and revised needs.

EVM, developed in the 1960s, looks for stable requirements, defined budgets, a detailed schedule, defined work scope, and a high degree of planning and organization.

Can the last century-s principles of EVM apply to Agile projects in the 21st century? Are all EVM principles applicable? Does EVM have to change to help manage Agile Projects? Does Agile have to change to provide EVM insight?

Management Technologies- panel of industry experts will discuss and debate if and how EVM can be applied to Agile projects.

The panelists are:

Kim Hunter, PMP, EVP; Task Lead for IntePros Federal-s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) support

Tony J. Barrett, PE, EVP, PMP; Valued Technology-s Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Richard (Dick) Brodkorb; Vice President, Earned Value Management, SM&A, LLC

Eric Christoph, PMP, EVP; Vice President for Management Solutions at L-3 Communications
