Integrated Interfaces From SEH Attach HP LaserJets Directly To The Fiber Optic Network

Bielefeld, Germany (June 11, 2012). – SEH, the German network specialist, today announced the introduction of a new type of adapter for attaching HP LaserJet models directly and securely to fiber optic networks. The FC126 for Megabit fiber optics (100BaseFX) and FC1126 for Gigabit fiber optics (1000BaseFX) has been developed in close cooperation with HP for the HP LaserJet Enterprise series. The FC126 integrated interface converts the Ethernet signals (100BaseTX/10BaseT) to fiber optic networks (100BaseFX). In the same way FC1126 attaches HP printers to Gigabit fiber optic networks (1000BaseT to 1000BaseFX). FC series integrated fiber optic interfaces simply attach to the printer, which also supplies power. All cabling is integrated into the printer and inaccessible from the outside, so that the eavesdropping-secure fiber optic connection runs right up to the printer. FC126 and FC1126 target all environments with high network security demands, such as government agencies, banks, police and defense organizations. FC126 and FC1126 will be available as of June 15th for about 175 Euro (FC126) and about 225 Euro (FC1126) respectively, excluding VAT.

The HP LaserJet Enterprise Models 500 Color M551, HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602 and HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603 are high end workgroup printers for professional environments. All printer models are equipped with the latest standards for secure printing, such as encrypted hard disks and secure pull printing. FC126 and FC1126 provide that the fiber optic cabling is led right up to the HP printers so they benefit from secure data transmission in fiber optic networks.

In contrast to traditional media converters, FC126 and FC1126 cabling is reduced to a minimum, and secured within the printer, providing for failure-free operation. Power is supplied via the USB interface of the printer. The RJ-45 cable is simply connected to the respective interface in the printer, and the FC series covers the connection, preventing tampering. External cabling is not required and therefore cannot be accidentally disconnected. Due to this direct attachment to the printers, potential weak spots in the cabling are no longer accessible. eavesdropping-secure fiber optic connection leads right up to the printer. Both network cabling and power supply are ensured at all times.
SEH offers a three year warranty for the FC126 and FC1126
fiber converters.
