Appcelerator Welcomes Mobile Developers at Dreamforce 2012

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/19/12 — Appcelerator®, the leading mobile platform company, today announced its participation at Dreamforce 2012 to serve as a central hub for the conference-s mobile developers looking to learn, share and network. Appcelerator-s Chief Developer Evangelist, Kevin Whinnery, will lead two instructional sessions on developing native apps. Both sessions will include live coding with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations. Appcelerator will also participate in the Live Stadium Challenge in which three mobile app development technologies will battle one another to determine industry supremacy.

“Mobile developers are some of brightest folks in the technology world, and we are so excited to expand our community at Dreamforce,” said Whinnery. “These events provide a perfect forum for not only introducing the Appcelerator Titanium platform to make a developer-s life easier, but also to learn what excites them, what challenges they encounter, and how we can work together to shape the future of the mobile ecosystem — with a special focus on enterprise cloud apps which are -all the rage- at Dreamforce.”

Appcelerator encourages conference attendees to visit their booth located in the Dev Zone, and to attend the following sessions to learn about the latest development practices:

(Wed. 9/19 @ 2:45pm in Moscone Center West, Touch Stadium) – Join Salesforce.com-s VP of Developer Relations, Adam Segilman, for an epic stadium battle. Three different mobile app developer technologies will enter — who will reign supreme? Three developer experts will tackle mobile app development challenges. Will they achieve the tasks or will it be disaster? Native iOS app development, Sencha Touch Framework, and Appcelerator Titanium will enter Touch Stadium — you judge who wins!

(Thurs. 9/20 @ 9:15am in Moscone Center West, DevZone Unconference A) – Learn to develop native iOS and Android applications with a unified JavaScript API. Explore integration with the Force.com REST API to develop multi-platform apps in no time, with a native look and feel. JavaScript+native UI+cloud services = major win.

(Thurs. 9/20 @ 1:00pm in Moscone Center West, Touch Stadium) – Learn how to use Titanium-s high-level JavaScript API to rapidly develop native apps for Android and iOS from a single codebase. We-ll also demonstrate how to use the Force.com JavaScript module to consume data from the Force.com REST API. After a brief architectural overview, we-ll dive straight into a live code session where these APIs will be used to develop a mobile app in real time.
