xG Technology Names Industry Veteran Rich Schubiger to Lead Government Sales Group

SARASOTA, FL — (Marketwire) — 09/25/12 — xG® Technology, Inc. (“xG” or the “Company”) (AIM: XGTU.L) (AIM: XGT.L), the developer of a portfolio of wireless communications technologies that solve the spectrum crisis, including cognitive radio networks, is pleased to announce that Rich Schubiger has joined the Company as its new Vice President of Government Sales. In this position, Rich will be responsible for overseeing sales of xMax cognitive radio network solutions to key government sectors, including the military, DHS (Department of Homeland Security), first responder, and public safety markets. This also includes government agencies at the national, state and local levels.

The defense, public safety, and government sectors represent key markets for xG-s patented xMax products and technology. xMax-s expeditionary design allows deployments on a “whenever, wherever needed” basis, providing a level of resilience and continuity of operations that is not available from commercial wireless systems. At the same time, xMax is interoperable with 2G, 3G, 4G systems and legacy IP infrastructures.

Rich Schubiger brings to xG over 20 years of experience in the wireless communications industry with a focus on the public safety and first responder markets. During his career he has served in a variety of corporate positions including executive management, sales, operations, design, and project management. Rich has amassed a wide range of management experience with private and public companies, which has featured extensive, hands-on executive consulting in the wireless and security industries. He served as Chairman and CEO of Global Technology, Inc., a provider of innovative communications solutions for the security, law enforcement and business sectors. Global Technology had seven facilities in North and South America and employed sales, project management, and engineering specialists.

Mr. Schubiger was the co-founder of Quality Communications and served as the company President/CEO. His leadership skills took Quality Communications from launch to become one of the fastest growing wireless sales and engineering companies in the United States. In 2004, Quality Communications was acquired by WPCS International. Rich held a Corporate Executive Vice President position with WPCS until his resignation in November 2008. Prior to establishing Quality Communications, Rich had a successful career with Motorola designing and supporting major wireless systems for utility, enterprise, and government applications. He also served proudly in the United States Marine Corps.
