Ulticom Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC) Demonstrated in RCS VoLTE 2012 Event

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — (Marketwire) — 09/26/12 — Ulticom, the industry leader in signaling solutions, announces participation in the RCS VoLTE (Voice over LTE) Interoperability Event in October 2012, organized by MSF, ETSI, and GSMA.

The RCS VoLTE Interoperability Event 2012 will endorse and test a number of GSMA Product Requirement Documents and will validate the Testing Scenarios developed by MSF, ETSI, and GSMA to facilitate multi-vendor deployment of LTE/EPC/IMS technology for RCS and VoLTE services.

The RCS VoLTE IOT event is taking place in China Mobile-s Mobile Research Institute Laboratory in Beijing, China and Telecom Slovenia Group-s Laboratory in Sintesio, Kranj, Slovenia.

“This test event, backed by major operators China Mobile, Verizon, and Telecom Slovenia, will focus on key network interface validation, with special emphasis on Diameter Routing Agents (DRA), to ensure multi-vendor deployment strategies for RCS/VoLTE/LTE/EPC/IMS technology,” said Shila Roohi, Vice President of Engineering at Ulticom.

“Ulticom-s commitment to the RCS VoLTE IOT highlights the significance of this technology for the telecommunications industry,” said Kyu-Ouk Lee, MSF President. “The MSF, ETSI, and GSMA are working together to validate the standards that support it.”

The Ulticom DSC provides Mobile Network Operators, Roaming Hub Operators, and Telecom Equipment Manufacturers with a turn-key, Linux-based software solution that can be easily integrated with new or existing products. The product is suitable for stand-alone deployment as a Centralized Router or a Diameter Edge Agent (DEA). The Ulticom DSC can also be deployed as an integrated component solution for applications that require a Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) for policy management systems or Diameter load balancing on any commercially available Linux-based hardware platform. The product also provides the ability to interwork between Diameter and SS7 networks.
