Ready for Take-Off: E-Commerce Goes Global

(arvato Systems) Gütersloh — The long-time partners hybris, a leading provider of omni-channel commerce software, and arvato Systems, the IT systems integrator, are ready for their new inCOMMERCE e-commerce industry event to really take off.

The event premieres on 15 November 2012 at Frankfurt Airport and will give e-commerce decision makers an opportunity to get to know each other and exchange ideas and experiences. inCOMMERCE is scheduled to be an annual event representing and responding to the era of e-commerce. Participants will have access to presentations from experts qualified to impart e-commerce strategies for global trade.

Attempts to appeal to international markets without a well-founded strategy or plan quickly succumb to failure. In the same way that national online operations require a clear strategy, so too do those for international e-commerce. Such a strategy would determine, among other things, which products should be sold in foreign markets, how the supply chain should be designed, and how customer support should be handled. Participants at inCOMMERCE will learn what a successful internationalization strategy actually looks like.

“Together with our partner arvato Systems, we are very pleased to have created the first industry-wide e-commerce event focusing on global trade,” explains Mark Holenstein, Vice President Central Europe at hybris. “inCOMMERCE is designed to give people making e-commerce decisions the proper equipment so that they can use a thoroughly developed concept to be successfully active in international markets.”

“The global aspect of e-commerce is playing an increasingly significant role,” adds Dr. Martin Anduschus, Vice President at arvato Systems. “hybris and arvato Systems are able to offer inCOMMERCE participants true added value with best-practice examples thanks to our many years of proven successful international e-commerce and cross-channel projects.”

An excerpt from the schedule of specialized presentations illustrates the broad spectrum of perspectives offered at inCOMMERCE:

•“From Multichannel to Cross-Channel – A Shift in Customer Behaviors” from Dr. Kai Hudetz, Managing Director of IFH and ECC Handel, refers to a study conducted by ECC Handel and hybris to suggest how the Internet has influenced customer behavior, and uses practical examples to offer recommendations about how to respond.

•“Is Facebook ‘ready’ for (e)Commerce?” from Benjamin Prause, Managing Director of eSP eSales Performance Marketing GmbH, names Facebook as the most important social media platform in the world and highlights the conflict between brand communication and commercial advertising.

As a prelude to networking after the presentations, ‘ready for take-off’ takes on a more literal meaning: Participants will be treated to a sneak peek behind the scenes at the Lufthansa Flight Training Center.
