Software Secure and International Center for Academic Integrity to Launch Trusted Seal Program to Promote Integrity Standards in Online Education

NEWTON, MA — (Marketwire) — 12/07/12 — , the recognized leader and pioneer in secure, computer-based testing solutions and the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI) today announced that they would be partnering to develop — a set of standardized criteria with which the integrity practices of online courses can be evaluated. The Trusted Seal will be awarded to online courses that meet a set of core criteria to educate, promote and protect academic integrity in the online learning environment.

The Trusted Seal is a program that evaluates, with a peer-reviewed rubric, hybrid and online courses for best practices in academic integrity. Online or hybrid courses, programs, or institutions that pass three rounds of peer review by academic integrity subject matter experts will be vested with the , a symbol of excellence in those practices that safeguard academic integrity in the online environment. The ultimate goal is to provide a tool to the greater community by which online course integrity, a proxy for online course quality, can be standardized across institutions.
