SkySQL Gains Strong Momentum Closing 2012 as Comprehensive Open Source Database Solutions Provider for Enterprise and Cloud

Only its second year in business, SkySQL has earned more than EUR 5 million in sales. This year, the company raised more than EUR 4 million in funding from Tekes, OnCorps, the Finnish Industry Investment Ltd., Spintop Ventures, and Open Ocean Capital to fund its product development efforts. The investment fueled the growth as well as development and launch of open source products to help MySQL users improve upon their enterprise database deployments and transition to the cloud.

In September, SkySQL debuted both the SkySQL Enterprise Data Suite and SkySQL Cloud Data Suite to provide world-class open source database solutions without the world-class vendor lock-in. This launch marked the company as a full-fledged products and services organization and was welcomed positively by the industry.
