Bayerischer Rundfunk Selects International Datacasting For Radio Content Distribution Network

OTTAWA, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 12/21/12 — International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a global leader in digital content distribution for the world-s premiere broadcasters, today announces a contract valued in excess of USD$500,000 with Bayerischer Rundfunk, a German public media broadcaster based in Munich.

Bayerischer Rundfunk will enhance their regional radio distribution network with the deployment of IDC-s Stereo FM Demodulator, the SFD-TR FM rebroadcast receiver, to distribute news, cultural and entertainment content to audiences throughout the German province of Bavaria. The SFD-TR delivers the highest quality radio frequency (FM) parameters for best-in-class reliability and integrity of radio signals at each rebroadcast transmitter site. This is especially critical in regions where signal quality and content delivery might otherwise be compromised due to geographic conditions.

Bayerischer Rundfunk, established in 1949, is a member of ARD (“Consortium of public law broadcasting institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany”), a joint organization of Germany-s regional public service broadcasters. The ARD is the world-s second largest public broadcaster after the BBC, and its constituent broadcasting institutions operate 54 regional and local radio stations and seven regional TV networks.

“IDC offers over 25 years of experience in developing advanced radio content distribution technologies,” stated Del Lippert, Interim CEO and Chairman of the Board. “We are proud of our radio heritage and intend to continue our focus on the advancement of these technologies. IDC-s professional radio receivers are internationally recognized and deployed in over 25,000 sites worldwide, which is testament to the highest levels of quality and reliability of our products.”

The SFD-TR is a proven and reliable FM rebroadcast receiver designed for professional FM broadcasters, offering sophisticated Radio Frequency (RF) measurements, Pilot, Bit-Error Rate, Radio Data System (RDS) and Audio measurements, with digital audio and RDS outputs. The SFD-TR variant offers extremely high RF specifications in accordance with the FM rebroadcast specifications required by the German “Institut fur Rundfunk Technik” (IRT) “Technische Richtlinie 5/3.5” and 5/1.0 Teil 3 organizations.
