This update to Audyssey DSX now takes stereo content to 5.1 and, if you have the channels, even 11.2. Most music content, TV programs and movies are still delivered in stereo. The full breadth of Audyssey DSX 2 incorporates height and width channels for a fully immersive experience. The emphasis that has, until now, been placed on rear channels in 7.1 systems doesn-t account for proper psychoacoustics, which research shows, makes wide channels and then height channels respectively more important for immersive sound.
