Anita Borg Institute Opens Call for Participation for the 2013 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

PALO ALTO, CA — (Marketwire) — 01/14/13 — (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in computer science and engineering, today opened the Call for Participation for the 2013 (GHC), the largest conference for technical women in the world.

This year-s Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing will take place October 2-5, 2013, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Grace Hopper Celebration provides attendees with technical sessions covering a wide range of subjects as well as a rich offering of professional development sessions for attendees at all career levels. Leading researchers present their work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today-s technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research, and engineering.

Submissions are sought from areas of technology and professional development. Presenters are encouraged to submit proposals on new technology trends in the areas of medical technology, media and entertainment, software engineering, education technology, and mobile experiences. These important areas are expanding technology-s impact and changing people-s lives fitting with this year-s conference theme, “Think Big, Drive Forward.”
