QPER Test Bed: A Test Plant in an Industrial Rack

Qosmotec’s QPER Test Bed shrinks the test plants to the size of an industrial rack. It offers mobile service providers without a test lab of their own a compact and configurable mobile network to test UE and SIM card behaviour.
“The number of MVNEs and MVNOs who base value-added services on existing networks, but do not own a test plant grows continuously. QPER Test Bed allows them to run the neccessary tests to ensure and improve their service. They no longer need to hold an entire infrastructure available nor rent it”, says Mark Hakim, managing director of Qosmotec Software Solutions GmbH.

QPER Test Bed simulates the mobile network consisting of core and radion functionality. It generates radio signals like a real base station, and supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE and UMTS technology.
Users can book all kinds of UEs into the network and use applications like voice calls, SMS or data traffic. But the main advantage is: QPER Test Bed represents subscriber mobility in the simulated network. “The QPER software offers an intuitive interface for this purpose which allows test engineers to create and run their test drives with a few clicks in the GUI”, declares Mr. Hakim. “This allows them, to emulate handover scenarios between different network technologies and international roaming situations. Additionally, a GPS interface enables users to replicate real drive tests exactly.”
