Gaming Standards Association (GSA) Announces Five-Year Strategic Plan

LAS VEGAS, NV — (Marketwire) — 01/29/13 — , the world-s leading gaming standards-setting organization, has established and adopted a five-year strategic plan. The plan upholds GSA-s mission to continue to be the leading voice of gaming industry standards, its commitment to the universal adoption of the ground-breaking G2S, GDS and S2S protocols, and clearly outlines the organization-s global goals in standards development and adoption through 2017.

GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, “Since 1998, GSA has been internationally recognized as the standards-setting organization by and for the industry. Now in this five-year plan, we set specific goals, acknowledge key industry trends and lay out a clear path to ensure that we have the right standards in place.”

The 2013-2017 strategic plan reaffirms GSA-s commitment to the continued development, implementation and certification of existing standards and includes the creation of an improved lifecycle roadmap for standards development and increased collaboration with stakeholders to drive adoption.

In addition, the organization will continue to build its recognized brand in the industry and examine collaboration with both U.S. regulators and European regulators related to online gaming messaging standards. The organization will further address the potential development of standards for the Player User Interface and the creation of a central repository for software authentication information. GSA will launch a new online gaming committee to provide leadership driving standards in the online space.

“This is a crucial time in the history of the industry. Technology is converging across platforms and disciplines, and this creates new opportunities for operators and suppliers, as well as challenges for regulators and testing labs. GSA membership has never been more important for all of these groups and we firmly believe that our five-year strategic plan clearly illustrates why participation in GSA is vital to future success,” DeRaedt said.

GSA, its members and committees have been an integral part of the gaming industry, developing landmark and widely adopted standards such as the award-winning ® protocol, ®, ®, ® and ® standards.
