Eight-Channel Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound Pulser From Supertex Saves Board Space

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwire) — 01/31/13 — Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the HV7350, an eight channel, monolithic, high-voltage, high-speed, pulse generator IC with built-in fast return-to-zero (RTZ) damping FETs designed for portable medical diagnostic ultrasound applications. The IC brings together controller logic interface circuitry, level translators, MOSFET gate drive buffers, and high voltage and high current complementary P- and N-channel MOSFETs output stage for each channel.

HV7350 features up to 20MHz operating frequency for wider ultrasound probe selections. The output peak current of each channel are guaranteed to be over +/-1.0A with up to +/-60V pulse swings as well as return-to-zero (RTZ) mode, which is ideal for battery powered, hand-held ultrasound scanner designs. An input clock pin is available to realign all the logic inputs to a master clock for more precise timing, which is essential in any good quality ultrasound imaging system.

“As medical diagnostic ultrasound systems increase in both portability and channel density, Supertex remains committed to leveraging its expertise in high voltage CMOS technology to provide ultrasound equipment manufacturers with the highest performing ICs on the market,” states Jimes Lei, Director of Application Engineering of Supertex. “This versatile, high voltage, high density, pulser IC excels not only in ultrasound applications, but also in any piezoelectric, capacitive or MEMS sensing applications.”

The HV7350 is available in a lead(Pb)-free/RoHS compliant 56-lead QFN package (HV7350K6-G). Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks. Pricing is US$16.33 each for the HV7350K6-G in 1K quantities.

Supertex, Inc. is a publicly held mixed signal semiconductor manufacturer, focused in high voltage analog and mixed signal products for use in the medical, LED lighting, printer and display, industrial and telecommunication industries.
