Riverbed Stingray Wins 2013 Cloud Award

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwire) — 02/13/13 — (NASDAQ: RVBD), the performance company, today announced the has been named a winner in the Web Services Excellence Category of the 2012-2013 Cloud Awards program. Stingray, a software and virtual application delivery controller (ADC) with integrated web content optimization (WCO) capabilities, allows IT to consolidate, scale, and move applications easily between physical data centers, virtual environments and the cloud. This flexibility is critical for customers with hybrid cloud environments and provides scalability and agility that cannot be matched by hardware ADCs.

“Winning top honors validates our leadership position in providing a software ADC that helps organizations with their application delivery strategy as they shift to virtualization and cloud computing,” said Kavitha Mariappan, director of product marketing for Stingray. “ADCs have to be cloud-aware, as dynamic as the application itself, and able to fit into changing environments. We offer the ideal ADC solutions to support software defined datacenters (SDDC) and accelerate multi-tier applications quickly and cost-efficiently across any private, public, and hybrid cloud environment.”

The Stingray product family is comprised of three products that can be deployed as software or as a virtual edition: the which is a full-featured ADC, , an industry-leading WCO platform, and , a sophisticated application firewall for deeper application level security.

“Compiling the shortlist was difficult and trying to pick individual winners in any category was almost impossible,” said Larry Johnson, Cloud Awards organizer. “We are extremely pleased to endorse Riverbed as a cloud services provider which solves real-world problems for its clients, knocking down the barriers inherent in older business models and showing them to be outmoded — truly leveraging cloud technologies to be the best of the best.”
