Bluelock Announces New Site in Las Vegas

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — (Marketwire) — 02/19/13 — Bluelock, a certified VMware of virtual datacenters hosted in the public cloud, today announced the opening of its new datacenter location in Las Vegas. This facility will support demand for Bluelock (VDCs) within the midsize and large enterprise market.

According to leading analyst firm Gartner, Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) is the fastest-growing segment of public cloud services, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 41.7% (2011 through 2016)(i). In response to this tremendous growth, Bluelock is opening a new datacenter location. The new Tier 4, SSAE Type II (formerly SAS 70) and SOC3 compliant datacenter facility will serve clients in the U.S. and overseas, enhancing connectivity and reducing latency.

“This top of the line, has abundant capacity to serve our clients in the U.S. with a stronger coast-to-coast presence as well as globally,” said Pat O-Day, chief technology officer, Bluelock. “As more companies begin to compete in the global marketplace, access to technology resources is critical to efficiently deliver applications and services to a broad customer base.”

Bluelock take minutes to set up, either through the VMware -based self-service interface or with Bluelock-s managed services team. Users can build new virtual machines (VMs) quickly from public and private catalogs of VM templates, or simply upload VMs they already have running in an environment. With Bluelock Virtual Datacenters, users can easily subtract and add capacity as they go, paying for only what is used. With the ability to upload and download any VMware-compatible workloads, users can easily migrate VMDK files to and from Bluelock-s public cloud. The solution is built on open standards with Open Virtualization Format (OVF) packaging for the transport of workloads and interoperability, with additional support for the VMware vCloud API.
