SharePoint Codeless Bi-Directional List Connectivity Powered by Enterprise Enabler and Business Data List Connector

Hamburg, 2010-07-05 – Layer2’s clients include well over 1000 customers around the world with a strong market presence in Europe. One of their top-selling SharePoint extensions, the Business Data List Connector now seamlessly integrates with Stonebond’s Enterprise Enabler.

“Many of our customers are looking to leverage their investment in and use of SharePoint by adding increased functionality and the ability to connect SharePoint lists directly to anything in their IT infrastructure and applications, e.g. CRM or ERP” said Frank Daske, Business Development Manager at Layer2. “Our customers include users of all SharePoint versions including MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0 as well as SharePoint 2010. The ability to create virtual relationships across multiple backend systems with Stonebond’s Enterprise Enabler and pull the data directly into SharePoint lists using our Business Data List Connector is significant on its own. But when combined with the ability to build this integration once and then apply it with the push of a button to any version of SharePoint, it becomes an irresistible proposition. It just makes too much sense, real transactional composite data from any data source in the enterprise in just a few hours and without any programming available in the familiar SharePoint list interface with all well-known list features available!”

Tom Sieger, VP of Stone Bond Technologies remarked, “We worked closely with Microsoft in the SharePoint 2010 TAP program and developed an appreciation for how SharePoint can create new business efficiencies. It quickly became clear that a combination of Enterprise Enabler and SharePoint could have all sorts of real world implications from new universal user interfaces to multiple backend systems all the way through to real time reporting and data visualization from any source.” Tom adds, “But we were restricted to the MOSS and SharePoint 2010 environments. With well over 80% of all licenses being WSS 3.0 we needed a way to reach those users. Layer2 has developed a fantastic SharePoint extension that connects any existing MOSS, WSS or SharePoint 2010 list directly to external data – not web parts only. All list features are supported, e.g. workflows, alerts and write-back to data source. We are pleased to work together with a company of such an impeccable reputation to have a much broader impact.”

Both companies are also looking to leverage each other’s strengths in their respective geographic market areas with cooperative marketing efforts. These will include webinars, tradeshows and other online and traditional marketing channels.
