Riverbed to Highlight Granite, Its Storage Delivery Solution at Storage Networking World Spring 2013

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwire) — 04/01/13 — (NASDAQ: RVBD), the application performance company, today announced its participation at Storage Networking World-s Spring 2013 Conference, taking place April 2-4 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida. At the conference, Riverbed® (booth #314) will highlight Granite®, its storage delivery solution, which allows IT management to pull storage from remote and branch offices and manage it in the data center, with its lower cost, reduced risk, improved security and reliable controls — while still giving employees the access they require. With Granite, IT leaders get the benefits of complete consolidation: data center-based management, instant provisioning, and instant restore.

In addition to demonstrating Granite, Riverbed will showcase Steelhead®, its wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions and Whitewater®, its cloud storage appliance for accelerating consolidated applications, (DR), and cloud backups. To show the benefits of Granite and Steelhead in real-world deployments, a Riverbed spokesperson will share how its global customers have taken advantage of these solutions to move branch and remote office storage and servers to the secure data center, and build a resilient, agile architecture that they can more cost effectively manage.

:

Chris Pinckney, director of Global Customer Programs at Riverbed, will present “Keys to Infrastructure Consolidation and Improved End-User Performance” on Tuesday, April 2nd from 4:10 p.m. – 4:50 p.m. during the Data Center Networking Track. During the presentation, Pinckney will elaborate on how to completely consolidate branch servers and storage to the data center to lower cost, reduce risk, improve security and reliable controls — while ensuring that remote workers get the performance and access they require. The presentation will provide examples of organizations around the globe that have implemented this disruptive architectural approach for edge IT management that takes full advantage of data center best practices, while enabling new capabilities such as instant provisioning and restore of remote sites.

In its booth, Riverbed will showcase its Granite solution, which has been . Granite gives organizations a groundbreaking storage delivery solution with the unique capability to -vacuum up- servers and storage from branch and remote offices so they can be centrally controlled in the data center. By leveraging the Granite solution, organizations have the ability to not only completely consolidate servers and storage but also get rid of remote backup and improve data security by putting data in secure locations to remove risk.

The company will also demonstrate its Steelhead WAN optimization appliance that enables enterprises to more cost-effectively manage large-scale data center-to-data center replication, accelerate applications among many locations and users in an enterprise, and build large private cloud infrastructures.

Leveraging industry-leading technologies to deliver local-like performance while using private or public clouds for secure off-site storage, Riverbed Whitewater appliances help enterprises save money with low cost cloud storage and are purpose built for data protection, eliminating tape, and improving disaster recovery readiness. The Whitewater cloud storage appliance, which will be demonstrated at the Riverbed booth, supports the industry-s most popular data protection applications as well as the leading cloud service provider application programming interfaces (APIs).

More than 22,000 organizations worldwide depend on Riverbed to understand, optimize and consolidate their IT infrastructure, through solutions that overcome performance issues caused by distance, distributed computing, and ever increasing amounts of data. As IT organizations embark on strategic initiatives to virtualize, consolidate and migrate workloads into cloud environments, users are moved farther from their data.
