GenieDB CTO to Speak at Percona Live — MySQL Worldwide Conference and Expo

SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwired) — 04/16/13 — , a leading innovator of distributed relational database technology, today announced that Sumeet Sheokand, CTO, GenieDB, will be presenting a session on multi-regional self-healing MySQL at the in Santa Clara, Calif., April 22-25. Sheokand-s session titled “Availability During Cloud Outages: Multi-Regional, Self-Healing MySQL, Replication and High Availability Strategies” will be held April 23 from 11:30 a.m – 12:30 p.m.

Cloud and data center outages cost enterprises millions of dollars annually, and cause bigger risks of data loss than security breaches. In the past, few businesses could deploy the complex and expensive technology needed to build resilient, distributed databases. Now new technology from GenieDB allows for applications built with MySQL to be distributed across multiple geographies without abandoning the MySQL architecture.

During the session, Sheokand will present an approach to maintaining 100% availability in the event of cloud or datacenter outages, through the use of multi-regional, master-master MySQL with automated healing. Sheokand will provide a technical overview of the architecture, a step-by-step guide to installation and configuration, and a live demonstration.

Visit GenieDB at Percona Live, booth #112, to meet with Sumeet Sheokand and the GenieDB team, who will be showing the “Indestructible Blog” to demonstrate how easy it is to keep applications up in the event of a cloud outage or server failure with their newest version: GenieDB v2.0, featuring performance enhancements and compatibility with MySQL 5.6.

GenieDB is the first database technology that enables enterprises to globally scale their existing MySQL applications without incurring the costs and pain associated with abandoning traditional database architecture. By dramatically simplifying the migration of enterprises into cloud-based infrastructures, GenieDB brings global scalability to the mainstream. GenieDB-s innovative and patent-pending approach automates and optimizes how data is processed across global networks and clouds, providing readily accessible, local database performance on a global scale. GenieDB is the earliest stage company to present at Under the Radar and Oracle Open World 2010 and recently debuted on the Rackspace Cloud Tools Marketplace. GenieDB is headquartered in San Juan Capistrano, California and is online at .
