QuickLogic-s Catalog CSSP Strategy Extends Company-s Reach Into Diversified Markets

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 04/17/13 — QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK)

Complements customizable products with “off-the-shelf” standard solutions

Expands served available market by addressing broad base of customer needs

Optimizes use of company-s R&D resources and boosts engineering ROI

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator in low-power Customer Specific Standard Products (), announced today that it has expanded its CSSP strategy to include catalog solutions. Catalog CSSPs are off-the-shelf devices designed to address common sets of customer requirements without requiring any further customization.

Catalog CSSPs are developed in conjunction with QuickLogic-s ecosystem partners who focus on the rapidly expanding market for mobile and embedded processor applications. By including a pre-defined CSSP in their reference designs, QuickLogic-s partners can significantly expand the scope of the design opportunities they can address and help their customers shorten design cycles. Initial applications targeted by QuickLogic with its ecosystem partners include scanners, terminals, tablets, AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) and digital image capture.

“The combination of the inherent flexibility offered by CSSPs and QuickLogic-s rapid response to new opportunities has helped us expand our reach into markets that would have been impractical for us to address on our own,” said Miller Adair, general manager, Sitara ARMĀ® processors, Texas Instruments Incorporated. “We look forward to developing new reference designs with QuickLogic going forward.”

“Embedded processor companies are challenged to balance what features they include in their processors while still addressing the broadest reach of applications in the embedded mobile market,” said Andy Pease, president and CEO of QuickLogic. “By partnering with QuickLogic, processor companies can optimize their designs for mainstream applications and then leverage the flexibility of CSSPs to expand into adjacent markets.”

The first Catalog CSSP devices (developed together with TI), including their associated drivers and reference designs, are available today from QuickLogic. The company expects to announce several new solutions over the next few quarters.
