Moped 2.0 Redefines Messaging for Business Users With Its Multi-Screen, Rich Content, Integrated and Open Platform Approach

Find contacts from your social networks (LinkedIn, Google, Facebook and Twitter)

Moped launches its next generation, -open-web,- messaging platform for business users. With a complete redesign and added features like the Media Gallery, Moped works seamlessly and simultaneously across multiple devices (desktop and mobile) where users can message, access and share rich media and files — all on an integrated and open platform.

Moped is integrated with services that business users use such as email and Dropbox, in addition to the innovative, web-of-things platform, IFTTT (connecting to Evernote, stock market alerts, weather updates etc.), Google Chrome and location/social networks including Foursquare, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter.

Moped is free, like Skype, and users can access their messages on the Web, from their email inbox, and on their smartphones. Users are not tied to a single device, and because Moped provides a “multi-screen experience,” users can access Moped simultaneously from several devices.

“Accessing your messages on several devices, this -multi-screen experience,- is an imperative for our users, as is integrating with other web services. Messaging needs to integrate with apps and services our users use, and we-re building Moped with this in mind,” says Schuyler Deerman, founder of Moped.

Rather than building a contact list off just a user-s address book, Moped scans users- social networks to find contacts in Moped.

From one-on-one to group messages, users can message anyone, on email, even outside of the Moped network. There is no need to exchange mobile numbers either, like other messaging apps.

Built on an -open web- foundation and sharing the viewpoint of market analysts like Forrester Research, Moped not only integrates with web services its users already use but is also opening up its messaging platform for third party developers.

Linden Tibbets, IFTTT-s CEO, says, “Moped is a swiss army knife. Not only is it elegant and fun to use, it-s incredibly functional. Especially when combined with IFTTT! Moped is great for teams too — you can share links with groups, view rich media, and send yourself alerts. It-s a must have app.”

According to Sean Lynch, Dropbox-s Platform Product Manager, “Dropbox usage inside teams and businesses is growing rapidly thanks in part to end users choosing the right tool for the job. Moped-s powerful Dropbox integration is the ideal use of our API and makes collaboration within teams and businesses even more effective. It-s very important for Dropbox to be part of workflows like this and I-m excited to see what Moped is able to do with the Dropbox Platform going forward.”

Besides a significant visual makeover, Moped 2.0 introduces a 2-column layout, which lets users keep an eye on their “inbox” while messaging. The new, flatter interface makes it easier to engage with multiple conversations at once, since the inbox stays in view while replying to a message or starting a new conversation. Find Moped on the Web at: .

With Moped-s mobile apps, there is no need to sort through dozens of conversations to find that link or piece of media content: the Media Gallery automatically saves links and media and from users- Moped messages. All media received are stored in one place, and easily accessible. Find Moped in the Apple App Store or on Google Play.

Moped builds an innovative, open and integrated messaging platform to improve the way people who work together. Based in Berlin, Moped was created in 2011 and funded by Earlybird, Betaworks, SV Angel and Lerer Ventures.
