Catalyst Names E-Discovery Industry Veteran David Sannar VP of International Development in Asia

DENVER, CO — (Marketwired) — 06/06/13 — , a pioneer in cloud-based discovery platforms for global e-discovery and other complex legal matters, today announced it has named e-discovery business development veteran David Sannar as its new Managing Director of Catalyst Japan LLC and Vice President of International Development in Asia. In this dual role, Mr. Sannar will be responsible for all operations and business growth throughout Japan and Asia, including the company-s operations and data center in Tokyo.

“I am honored to join Catalyst and offer our powerful and litigation solutions to the Asian market,” said Mr. Sannar. “These days, it-s very common for companies in Asia to find themselves involved with U.S. litigation, especially in intellectual property disputes. Many companies and law firms in places such as Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Seoul, Honk Kong, Taipei and Singapore often need a secure, cloud-based e-discovery platform that can be used in their native language.

“Catalyst offers a powerful platform that allows users to manage e-discovery data, search and review in their native language,” Mr. Sannar continued. “We also provide highly sophisticated tools for first-round review. I look forward to showing clients how our elegantly simple tools achieve efficiencies and lower costs.”

A former President and COO of AccessData Corporation, Mr. Sannar has played a pivotal role in the success of many companies that handle electronic data, most recently working with US and Japanese companies in the e-discovery and computer forensic industries. He has more than 20 years of experience working with companies in Asian markets. Mr. Sannar earned an MBA from Brigham Young University, where he also taught courses on Intercultural Communications with an emphasis on Japanese business.

“Dave will be playing a vital role in growing the Asian market for Catalyst while overseeing client services and operations, both in Tokyo and in Seoul when we open there later this year,” said Catalyst CEO John Tredennick. “We-re looking forward to a year of big growth overseas.”

As business takes place on an increasingly global playing field, litigation is also going global, with data spread across multiple jurisdictions, languages, matters, law firms and parties. Catalyst is highly respected in the Asian marketplace because of its extensive experience and expertise in multi-language e-discovery, and because of its powerful e-discovery platform, built specifically for large, complex cases.

The company currently partners with many of the region-s leading e-discovery, translation and document management firms, including AOS, Ji2, Honyaku Center, Honyaku Corporation, XEBEC, DMC and I-Analysis. Catalyst also offers one of the most powerful predictive coding applications in the industry, with the ability to analyze Chinese, Japanese and Korean (CJK) documents for faster, more efficient, cost effective search and reviews.

For over 14 years, Catalyst has pioneered innovative, reliable e-discovery technology and services for law firms and in-house counsel from many of the largest organizations in the world.
