HOUSTON, TX — (Marketwired) — 07/08/13 — Today, Cimation announced the acquisition of Synergist SCADA Inc., a Calgary-based company specializing in automation solutions. This is the first acquisition for Cimation, a leading provider of automation, industrial IT, and enterprise data solutions that was included on earlier this year.
Through this acquisition, Cimation cements its foothold in the Canadian market by absorbing Synergist into its newly founded Calgary office and welcoming its staff into the fold. Synergist-s founder Austin Scott also joins Cimation, where he will continue to manage ongoing projects, oversee local client accounts, and provide key strategic insight.
As part of the acquisition, Cimation has also taken over the distribution and development of Synergist SCADA-s intellectual property repertoire, which includes the library and Active Network Security appliance. Citect Power Tools speed up common SCADA development tasks while Active Network Security is a tool that detects network intrusions and reports them to the controls systems operators as alarms. These products bridge the gap between automation and IT, offering meaningful, user-friendly solutions for common industry problems.
