SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 07/11/13 — Blue Coat Systems, Inc., the market leader in , today expanded the real-time language support of its cloud-based to include Hebrew. WebPulse now supports 19 languages in real time and recognizes 50, allowing it to deliver comprehensive Web and threat intelligence to the , and .

WebPulse unites a globally diverse community of more than 75 million people who make more than one billion Web requests per day, providing a comprehensive view of the Web ecosystem. Blue Coat leads the industry in its support for real-time language support, providing the most accurate categorizations of unknown content across the most languages. These capabilities give companies greater visibility into web traffic on their network and enable them to enforce their security policies with extremely high levels of accuracy and consistency.

“By adding real-time support for Hebrew we-ve further expanded the coverage of WebPulse,” said Steve Schoenfeld, senior vice president of products at Blue Coat Systems. “Now more URLs and content can be categorized and rated, so our customers have better intelligence for enforcing their security policies. And that translates to less -overblocking- of content, which means users are more productive and make fewer calls to the help desk.”

In addition to providing the most accurate ratings, the WebPulse Collaborative Defense also delivers advanced threat protection, including the industry-s only that proactively blocks attacks before they occur. Cybercriminals use malnets (malware networks), infrastructures embedded in the Internet, to launch ongoing attacks on unsuspecting users.

While cybercriminals regularly change malware payloads to evade detection by signature-based anti-virus defenses, they often reuse the infrastructure that funnels users to those threats. With the Negative Day Defense, WebPulse is already blocking the servers or domains at day zero of an attack, so Blue Coat customers are routinely protected before the actual threat occurs. With traditional approaches, detection can only begin once the attack has launched.

WebPulse is a core component of the Blue Coat , delivering comprehensive web intelligence across the five centers that comprise Blue Coat Business Assurance Technology. These five centers deliver solutions for , , , and .

Real-time support for Hebrew in WebPulse is immediately available, without requiring downloads or software updates, to all existing customers with subscriptions, the , the or PacketShaper appliances.

Blue Coat empowers enterprises to safely and quickly choose the best applications, services, devices, data sources, and content the world has to offer, so they can create, communicate, collaborate, innovate, execute, compete and win in their markets. For additional information, please visit .
