Uniserve Communications and Family Services of the North Shore “The $10,000 Uniserve Challenge”

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwired) — 08/02/13 — Uniserve Communications (“Uniserve” or “Company”) (TSX VENTURE: USS) is proud to announce that it has donated $10,000 to Family Services of the North Shore.

Family Services of the North Shore (“Family Services”) is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the community for over 60 years. They serve the City and District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, Lions Bay and Bowen Island. They provide counseling, support and education for close to 7,400 families and individuals, many of whom are victims of abuse.

Statistics show that 35% of girls and 16% of boys between grades 7 and 12 have been sexually abused. One in seven Canadian children aged eleven to sixteen have been victims of bullying. Sexual abuse and bullying are just two forms of abuse that are affecting children today. Family Services help children understand that they are not at fault and help them feel like they are not alone. Without a safe place to go, many of these children have nowhere to turn. In many of these cases of abuse and bullying, the lack of intervention can result in the loss of a child-s life.

Family Services- outstanding work makes our communities a safer and healthier environment for all. Their annual budget is now close to $3.7 million, of which $1.3 million is fundraised. Without the generous support of the communities, this critical support to victims would not be possible.

“The $10,000 Uniserve Challenge” was the Company-s commitment to helping its community partner. This event was held over 10 days in June, 2013 where Uniserve would match dollar for dollar, on all donations raised, up to $10,000.

In total, this fundraising campaign raised $20,000: $10,000 from donors and $10,000 from Uniserve. These donations will go directly towards helping children affected by issues such a sexual abuse, eating disorders and bullying.

Bruce Sanderson, President and CEO of Uniserve stated, “We are so proud to have been a part of this crucial campaign to help Family Services of the North Shore continue with their remarkable work. We thank everyone who so generously donated to this worthy cause. Thank you for your support – we could not have done it without you.”

The Company hosted a Cheque Presentation Celebration at Strut Studios in Vancouver, BC on July 17, 2013. Uniserve would like to thank Kim Elton of Strut Studios for providing an outstanding space for this very special event. Kim Elton is Chief Marketing Officer of Strut Studios and also served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Uniserve wishes to express special thanks to the following individuals for their leadership and dedication to their communities:

At the conclusion of the Celebration, Mr. Sanderson announced the Company-s continued support by announcing that Uniserve will be supporting this same fundraiser again next year. The company will be doubling its match to $20,000 to this worthy cause.

The Company would like to thank everyone who supported this fundraising campaign. Your support has gone a long way to help children within our communities.
