AOL Partners With Hearst-s Manilla to Simplify Bill and Account Management for Consumers

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 08/13/13 — , the industry-leading, free and secure account management service wholly owned by Hearst Corporation, today announced a deep custom integration across AOL. Users can now effortlessly manage bills in their AOL Mail inbox and on AOL.com through Manilla for free. The new feature, named AOL Bill Manager, makes it even easier for AOL users to keep their bills and personal accounts organized while also streamlining the paperless process and storing bills and statements for free.

Users can activate AOL Bill Manager with just a few clicks to begin managing all of their bills and personal accounts directly through the custom-designed system, powered by Manilla. Details about the accounts the user has connected to Manilla will then be accessible through the Finance tab on AOL.com and in the AOL Mail experience, as well as in the user-s Manilla account.

“AOL Bill Manager, powered by Manilla, allows our users to easily manage their bills through AOL.com or their AOL Mail account,” said Francis Lobo, president of AOL Services, who oversees Mail and AOL.com. “This new tool is part of our continuing effort to help create a better Internet experience. There is a massive amount of clutter on the Internet today. Adding this functionality gives AOL users the chance to eliminate the hassle of managing multiple billing accounts across a number of different websites.”

Using Manilla-s secure email import feature, consumers with multiple email accounts can also automatically scan their Gmail and Yahoo! email inboxes for bills and add them to AOL Bill Manager, enabling them to manage all accounts in one convenient place. The Bill Manager uses the data received from each of a user-s linked providers and automatically generates reminders for upcoming bills.

This is the first partnership of its kind for Manilla, which, since coming out of beta in 2012, has been focused on growing its standalone business. The company recently announced it has more than 500,000 activated users and is on track to surpass 1 million users by the end of 2013.

“Manilla is the clear leader in the digital account management space, and our partnership with AOL represents the next step in our continued commitment to reducing paper mail and creating the best solution for our users,” said Jim Schinella, CEO of Manilla. “AOL Bill Manager is the result of several months of development on both sides to customize the Manilla experience for millions of AOL-s loyal users that visit AOL Mail and the AOL.com service daily, and we-re confident it will contribute to our already rapid user growth. This innovative partnership builds on our promise of being able to manage everything in one place by allowing access to all household bills and accounts alongside a user-s AOL Mail and content.”

AOL Mail users will see promotion of the new Bill Manager service beginning on Aug. 13, which will alert them to the new offering. They can activate the free AOL member benefit with just a few clicks. AOL Bill Manager will launch as a desktop solution, with mobile versions coming soon.

Manilla simplifies and organizes people-s lives by providing one secure access point to all household accounts and services. The free service helps consumers manage their household accounts, including financial accounts, utilities, subscriptions, daily deals, and travel and rewards programs, all through Manilla.com. Consumers can also use all of the Manilla features on the go by using Manilla-s 4+ star customer-rated Android and iOS mobile apps. Under a single password, Manilla gives customers an automated, organized view of all of their account information as well as text and email reminders to pay bills, renew expiring subscriptions, and manage soon-to-expire daily deals, all with unlimited storage and seamless document retrieval.
