Ingram Micro Raises More Than $225,000 at 18th Annual East Coast Charity Golf Tournament

BUFFALO, NY — (Marketwired) — 08/14/13 — In support of the Buffalo community, (NYSE: IM) and its associates are pleased to announce they raised more than $225,000 at the company-s 18th Annual East Coast Charity Golf Tournament, which took place earlier this month at The Links at Ivy Ridge in Akron, N.Y. The annual fundraising event benefited five local charities. Each nonprofit received between $15,000 and $40,000 and plans to use the donations as follows:

will sponsor a new build house.

will renovate the bathrooms in the Kevin Guest House, our nation-s first hospital hospitality house.

, the pioneer air-medical service in New York state, will purchase Sigma IV pumps for each of its three bases.

, a support network for those who have lost a baby, will put the donation toward their Wings of Love Memorial Fund and the Wings of Love Memorial Garden Parks.

will use the funds to support its community outreach programs, survivor outreach initiatives and implementation of grassroots advocacy.

“Ingram Micro has always been committed to giving back to our community, and this golf tournament is a fun way to get our associates involved in that,” said Marty Battaglia, senior sales director for Ingram Micro U.S. and the event organizer. “Each of these charities has had an impact on an Ingram Micro associate, friend or family member.”

This year-s event featured more than 150 registered golfers, comprised of Ingram Micro associates and manufacturers, as well as 50 Ingram Micro volunteers. The tournament is sponsored by 55 of Ingram Micro-s manufacturer partners, including Add-On Computer, Juniper, CoreTrans Logistics, Ergotron, Wells Fargo, Cisco and HP-ESSN.

In addition to the golf tournament, Ingram Micro held two auctions in conjunction with the event. The first, a pre-event auction, was held for associates on July 18 and 19 and raised more than $10,000. The second was held on the day of the golf tournament and featured more than 100 donated items from Ingram Micro-s manufacturers, as well as the local community. Proceeds from both auctions were donated to the event-s charity beneficiaries.

“We-re overwhelmed by the amount of support we-ve received from our associates, partners and community,” Battaglia said. “The funds raised will go a long way in helping us support these nonprofit organizations and positively influence the community in which we work and live. It was a great event and we look forward to what the future brings for each of these charities.”
