Encore Reaffirms Its Commitment to the FCC-s Schools and Libraries Program

EASLEY, SC — (Marketwired) — 08/21/13 — Encore Technology Group, one of the Southeast-s largest independent technology solution providers, today announced that it has officially been named an authorized service provider in the Schools and Libraries Program, commonly known as the E-rate Program. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), acting under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has completed the migration of the Service Provider Identification Numbers (SPINs) associated with the company-s former entity, Computer Software Innovations (CSI), to new SPINs created for Encore Technology Group.

All SPINs previously associated with CSI-s Priority 1 and Priority 2 services are no longer in effect, and Encore-s E-rate Program clients should begin using the new SPINs immediately.

– CSI SPIN 143034550 was migrated to Encore SPIN 143037077. This SPIN covers a variety of Priority 1 telecommunications services, including CloudVoice, Encore-s hosted VoIP solution, to applicants across the nation. Encore began providing these services (as CSI) in 2010.

– CSI SPINs 143030979, 143030970, 143030969, 143033808 and 143017811 were migrated and merged to Encore SPIN 143037152. This SPIN covers Priority 2 services, including internal connections and basic maintenance of internal connections spanning various technology solution areas, to applicants predominately located throughout the Southeast. Encore began providing these services (as CSI) in 1999.

“We-re no strangers to E-rate. In fact, with this SPIN consolidation and migration, Encore is really just picking up where CSI left off,” said Chris Davis, chief operations officer of Encore Technology Group. “We have always believed in what E-rate makes possible for K-12 schools and libraries. Several members of our management team were actively involved in the program-s inception nearly two decades ago, and today, we continue to advocate for it and invest significant resources to meet program requirements and expand our team-s E-rate knowledge.”

The E-rate Program was enacted with the FCC-s Telecommunications Act of 1996. It is aimed at making advanced telecommunications and Internet access available at affordable rates to K-12 schools and community libraries. E-rate is an important part of Encore-s business and a pivotal source of funding for its public sector clients. It is often leveraged in Encore-s connected classroom deployments in K-12 schools, where budget constraints can severely limit the procurement of modern computing and communications tools. Encore-s team members have built over 40,000 connected classrooms in K-12 schools alone. This track record is rooted in Encore-s commitment to the evolution of the classroom, long-standing partnerships, expertise with classroom technologies, and E-rate Program knowledge, advocacy and integrity.

From 1999, the program-s initial funding year, through 2012, the company (operating as CSI) received over $375 million in E-rate contract awards. Encore employs a federal programs manager who oversees its participation in E-rate and other federal funding programs.

Encore Technology Group helps educational institutions, government agencies and commercial enterprises rethink technology and leverage it to access and manage data, engage stakeholders and measure results. Solid partnerships, coupled with a highly experienced and heavily certified team, enable Encore to offer one of the most trusted and diverse portfolios of technology solutions on the market today. Encore-s client roster spans the entire country and crosses many industries, but it has the distinction of being one of the largest independent technology solution providers in the southeastern United States as well as one of the nation-s most experienced providers of connected K-12 classrooms.
