Energy Points Names Jon Anda Executive Vice President, Strategy

BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 09/04/13 — Energy Points, the leading provider of solutions that enable enterprises to optimize energy resources and environmental performance, today announced that it has appointed Jon Anda to executive vice president, strategy.

After a distinguished career as head of global capital markets, corporate finance, and investment banking Asia at Morgan Stanley, Jon set out in 2007 to connect climate change and financial markets. After working on carbon markets for the Environmental Defense Fund and Duke University-s Nicholas Institute until the 2009 demise of cap and trade legislation, Jon turned his focus to analytics. That year he co-authored a paper in the Journal of Energy Policy which calculated real option values for a 450 parts-per-million climate target as a hedge against fat-tailed climate risk.

“Jon-s passion for connecting energy and emissions to real-world finance fits perfectly with our value proposition for CFOs and other decision makers,” said Ory Zik, founder and CEO of Energy Points. “Application of big data tools to source-to-site resource productivity is still in its infancy. Jon will be a big help in both the expansion of our customer base and ongoing development of our analytical platform.”

Energy Points provides integrated source-to-site energy analytics through an enterprise SaaS platform, which measures “behind the utility meter” for electricity, fuels, transportation, wastes, and water. Using embodied energy principals Energy Points converts each of these to an EnergyPoint® (EP), which is equivalent to a gallon of gasoline; and Energy per Gallon (EPG), which is comparable to the MPG of a car. As a big data solution for maximizing enterprise energy productivity, the Energy Points platform facilitates benchmarking, evaluating projects, managing the risk of changing energy systems and regulations, communicating to stakeholders, and supporting required disclosures.

“For years I have struggled with the disconnect between sustainability and, say, the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases or the future availability of fresh water. I am thrilled to be joining a company whose analytics and algorithms connect the means to the end,” said Jon Anda. “Having been a chief sustainability officer at UBS Investment Bank in 2012, I know the importance of matching the compliance side of sustainability to broader financial policy and risk management. That is an area in which Energy Points will continue to be very helpful.”

Mr. Anda has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois.

Energy Points delivers a simple and accurate, unifying solution that enables operational management and optimization of energy resources across enterprises. The company-s cloud based SaaS platform combines advanced analytics with big data to translate all resources into a unifying metric enabling a direct, one-to-one comparison of domains such as electricity, fuel, transport, waste, and water.

EnergyPoints Analytics is available for channel partners looking to integrate the functionality directly into existing energy resource management solutions through a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK).

Founded in 2011, Energy Points is privately held and headquartered in Boston, Mass. For more information, please visit .
