UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today announced plans to become the vendor of choice for education and research institutions worldwide. Plans include delivery of a single, international sector-specific enterprise software solution and formation of a dedicated central management team with responsibility for UNIT4-s global Center of Excellence for Education and Research.
UNIT4 will continue to work in close partnership with education and research institutions throughout the product development lifecycle, to understand their exact needs and requirements. The new enterprise solution set, UNIT4 Campus, which encompasses UNIT4 Agresso Education, will exploit the unique change capabilities of UNIT4 Agresso to meet the needs of institutions better than non-integrated, antiquated competitive offerings. UNIT4 Campus is well suited to a shared services environment and cloud delivery, and will allow institutions the option to adopt the solution in a modular fashion, linking it via web services to existing legacy systems until they are replaced.
UNIT4 already provides software solutions to more than 400 education and research institutions, making it the leading supplier to the sector in the UK and Scandinavia, with an emerging presence in North America, France and other countries worldwide. In 2012, it established a global Center of Excellence for Education and Research solutions where it is combining its extensive domain expertise with the post-implementation change capabilities of Agresso. The new enterprise solution set is a great fit for institutions opening international campuses and research centers, partnering with institutions abroad or actively seeking to attract international students.
UNIT4 appointed a new central management team with responsibility for global education and research strategy, and plans to recruit additional expertise over the next 12 months. The current team is made up of senior management including Ab van Marion, Chief Operating Officer at UNIT4; David Harwood, R&D Director for Education and David Turner, Corporate Marketing Director.
Most recently, UNIT4 appointed Rob Sparks as VP Product Management and Strategy for Education and Research. Rob has extensive experience in higher education having spent 15 years with education software specialist Ellucian as well as having a background in implementing such systems in the sector.
