Physicians Interactive Selects Accomplished Healthcare Industry Leaders for New Board of Directors

Donato Tramuto, the Chief Executive Officer of Physicians Interactive, will assume responsibilities of Chairman of the Board.

The introduction of this impressive board follows the recent acquisition of PI by the Merck (GHIF), a growth venture capital organization that invests in breakthrough healthcare solutions. Joining Tramuto on the board will be:

Bill Taranto, who will serve as Vice Chairman of PI-s Board of Directors, is the managing director of GHIF, which deploys its evergreen $500 million fund to rapidly identify and develop transformative global health care opportunities in pharmaceuticals and vaccines. He has more than 25 years of healthcare experience and brings expertise in evaluating new business models, sales and marketing operations, and investment banking to the Board.

George Abercrombie, the former CEO of Roche Pharmaceuticals, has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has substantial expertise in sales and marketing, executive sales management and business development.

Tim Heady is former CEO of UnitedHealth Group-s Pharmaceutical Division. He was responsible for all aspects of UnitedHealth Group-s Pharmaceutical business, including pharmaceutical rebate contracting, retail pharmacy network development, customer and member services, operations, and financial performance.

Stan Kachnowski is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi and Chair of HITLAB, a healthcare innovation lab. His work includes studying the impact of information technologies in the physician-s office, hospital, pharmacy, and managed care organizations. A leading scholar, educator, and researcher in healthcare technology innovation, Kachnowski has taught more than 3,000 students and executives at IIT and Columbia over two decades.

Kerry Kennedy is the President of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and a board member of Health eVillages, a program founded by Tramuto to provide mobile health technology and medical content to rural healthcare providers in some of the most challenging clinical environments around the globe. Kennedy is also the Co-Chair of the Amnesty International Leadership Council and serves on the boards of many foundations and committees, including the National Center for Learning Disabilities and the Campaign for Human Development.

Lee Shapiro, the former President of Allscripts, remains a member of the Board of Directors for PI. He has significant experience in directing strategic initiatives at a global public healthcare technology company, including mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, business development and partnerships, and business activities in the areas of analytics and information services.

Joe Volpe is an investment principal with GHIF, where he is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in health information technology. He has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare innovation and healthcare investing
