BroadSoft Names Andrew Wyatt as Vice President, Strategy

GAITHERSBURG, MD — (Marketwired) — 10/01/13 — (NASDAQ: BSFT) today announced that Andrew Wyatt has joined the company as Vice President, Strategy. Wyatt will assume the lead role in developing BroadSoft-s product strategy, managing its global business development and overseeing marketing.

Wyatt brings a depth of software experience to BroadSoft, having created and executed successful solution selling and business development strategies in the telecommunications and enterprise application space. Most recently, Wyatt served as Chief Operating Officer at Clearswift, a U.K.-based enterprise security company. Prior to Clearswift, he served as Head of Solution Management for Subscriber Data at Nokia Siemens Networks. He joined Nokia Siemens Networks through their acquisition of Apertio, at that time a market-leader in subscriber database platforms and core network application suites for service providers. After the acquisition, Wyatt was responsible for the successful scaling of the Apertio solutions, enabling Nokia Siemens Networks to further expand their subscriber database business.

“This is a key senior leadership role, which is expected to deliver a consistent strategy, vision and messaging for BroadSoft, ensuring we capitalize on our market leadership position and achieve our growth objectives,” said Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft. “Andrew brings deep expertise in the telecommunications and enterprise software industries. His experience will serve BroadSoft well as he develops strategies for our UC-One platform and executes on its mission of transforming the way enterprises communicate.”

UC-One is a comprehensive, open Unified Communications platform that combines all of the critical elements a telecommunications service provider requires to ensure rapid delivery of their UC solutions to the market segments they serve, including intuitive user interfaces, full mobility, open APIs and defined market offerings. UC-One breaks down communication boundaries that persist between services, devices and the individuals who are communicating and collaborating, enabling true mobile unified communications.

“BroadSoft is well positioned in the telecommunications industry and I am excited by the opportunity to continue my career focus as a champion of software and platform openness for UC-One,” said Andrew Wyatt. “I look forward to contributing my strategic perspective in order to accelerate BroadSoft-s growth by enabling telecommunications service providers to meet the communications needs of their enterprise customers.”

During Wyatt-s 25 years of experience he has specialized in building and expanding markets for innovative technologies, ultimately leading to company growth. Prior to his positions at Clearswift and Nokia Siemens Networks, Wyatt served at several companies in executive strategy, product management and marketing capacities, including Lotus Development (later acquired by IBM), Openwave Systems and Paragon Software Ltd (later acquired by Phone.com).

BroadSoft is the leading provider of software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer Unified Communications over their Internet Protocol, or IP networks. The Company-s core communications platform enables the delivery of a range of enterprise and consumer calling, messaging and collaboration communication services, including private branch exchanges, video calling, text messaging and converged mobile and fixed-line services.
