U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Issues Notice of Allowance for AudioEye-s Seventh United States Patent

TUCSON, AZ — (Marketwired) — 10/02/13 — AudioEye®, Inc. (OTCQB: AEYE), creator of the Audio Internet patented audio browsing and automated publishing technology platform, today announced that the Company has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) on a patent application related to its Audio Internet patent portfolio.

The newly allowed patent application protects innovations related to the Company-s system and method for generating audio content. Within embodiments of the invention, and in a process proprietary to AudioEye, content is automatically retrieved from an original website according to a predetermined schedule and converted into one or more audio files. A hierarchy is assigned to the audio file(s) to provide an audible website that represents a mirror image of the hierarchy, navigation and functionality of the retrieved content.

“AudioEye-s Audio Internet represents a new paradigm in online content publication and consumption,” stated Nathaniel Bradley, the named inventor on the allowed patent and Chief Executive Officer of AudioEye, Inc. “We can publish anything our customers publish, automatically, in multiple formats. If our customers publish text, we publish audio. If customers post rich media online, we caption it and provision the controls necessary for functionality. The entirety of AudioEye-enabled mobile content is accessible by hearing- and vision-impaired users without the need for point-and-click or visual and gestural methodologies.”

Embodiments consistent with this invention generally relate to data processing for the purpose of navigating a computer database. More specifically, such embodiments relate to a method and apparatus for creating audible or alternative output that is compatible with computers, electronic tablets, mobile phones and audio playback devices. The invention allows any users, but especially vision-impaired and disabled users, to access and navigate the output based on accessible cues.

The Notice of Allowance from the USPTO represents the seventh U.S. patent issued to AudioEye. International counterparts are being pursued, as well as several patents in continuation, division and within areas of new technology development in fields involving computer science, management information systems, mobile networks, content management systems, computer engineering and interactive media broadcasting.

The latest Notice of Allowance follows AudioEye-s receipt, on July 30, 2013, of a separate Notice of Allowance from the USPTO for its sixth patent, entitled “System and Method for Creating Audio Files”. The Company expects final publication of patent numbers by the USPTO for both the sixth and seventh patents within the next 60 to 90 days.
