SANTA MONICA, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/11/13 — The 2013 Siemer Silicon Beach Summit brought together over 500 technology and finance leaders from around the world and generated in-depth discussions on issues shaping the technology industry and innovative company presentations. Panels and roundtable discussions anchored by Lance Maerov (WPP), Michael Smith (AOL), Jessica Schell (NBC Universal), Chris Dewolfe (SGN), Josh Butler (Facebook), and Urs Cete (BDMI), among others, explored a variety of topics inherent to the global tech community ranging from content and monetization to marketing for early stage companies.

The 2013 Summit opened with a fireside chat with keynote speakers Bill Gross, Dave McClure and Mark Suster. Moderated by David Siemer, the discussion examined the history of and future strategies for developing startups.

The Summit also served as a launch pad for new products and branding from companies such as Revenue.com, Circa, DailyLook, Get This, and MyTime.
The Summit concluded with the The Wavemaker Awards, emceed by Jesse Draper, the creator and host of “The Valley Girl Show”. The awards honored exciting young companies with exceptional talent in the technology and media industries. Twenty of the nearly 40 nominated companies had the chance to demo their products in front of a panel of judges and their peers from the Summit. This year-s notable judges included Mark Yi of Intel Capital, Andrew Cleland of Comcast Ventures, Sean Rad of Tinder, Manish Patel of Highland Capital, Brian McLoughlin of Upfront Ventures, Hale Boggs of Manatt Digital Media, Mark Fernandes of Sierra Ventures, and Vishnu Menon of Warburg Pincus, among others.
