SALT LAKE CITY, UT — (Marketwired) — 10/14/13 — In honor of his enduring impact on Utah-s healthcare industry, David Burton, MD, Chairman of SLC-based and a former senior executive of Intermountain Health Care, was honored for his lifetime achievement as a “healthcare hero” by magazine.
The award, featured in the October edition of Utah Business, recognizes Dr. Burton-s significant contributions to improving the health of Utah residents throughout his impressive 40-year career.

In his 23 years at Intermountain, he helped guide the development of a system that kept healthcare quality among the highest and expenses among the lowest in the country. After retiring from Intermountain in 2008, Dr. Burton became CEO and later Executive Chairman of Health Catalyst.
