Government Websites Designed by Vision Internet Earn Recognition for Five U.S. Towns and Counties

SANTA MONICA, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/15/13 — Vision Internet (), innovators in online government, today announced that five websites designed for its city and county government customers in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and Wisconsin won a total of seven awards from the National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) and the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

NAGW Pinnacle Award winners were announced on September 26 at its annual conference in Louisville, Ky. Judged by a group of web professionals from inside and outside of government web development, Pinnacle Award criteria include content, organization, design, performance and flexibility, accessibility standards, and interactivity. The award is made in each of three population categories for cities and counties.

The website designed by Vision Internet for the City of Boulder, Colorado () won the Pinnacle Award for cities with medium populations (50,000 – 150,000) and the City of San Marcos, Texas () won the award in the small city category (50,000 and less). The San Marcos site also won the Sponsor-s Award, presented by the sponsor of the awards banquet. And Vision Internet client, the City of Littleton, Colorado (), joined Boulder in receiving the Members- Choice Award, voted on by NAGW membership from among the top three judged entries in each category.

In a separate competition, the W3 Awards, sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), recognized the creative excellence of two additional government websites designed by Vision Internet: Sheboygan County, Wisconsin () won a Gold W3 Award and the City of Purcell, Oklahoma () won a Silver Award. Website entries for the W3 Awards are judged by members of the IAVA based on creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.

“These local government teams are great partners, and winning these prestigious awards confirms the phenomenal results of their hard work and collaboration,” said Ashley Fruechting, Vision Internet-s director of strategic initiatives. “Each of these sites reflects the unique personality of the city and county recognized. These savvy municipal leaders join others across the country who have embraced online and mobile communication to proactively share public information that empowers citizens and keeps government accountable to the people.”

At the core of Vision Internet-s website functionality is an innovative government content management system, visionCMS (), which allows non-technical staff to add, edit and delete website content while providing the management tools necessary to maintain control, consistency and quality.
