CloudPassage-s Halo Cloud Security Platform Receives HP ArcSight Common Event Format (CEF) Certification

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/16/13 — CloudPassage ®, a leading cloud infrastructure security provider, announced today that its Halo cloud security platform has received HP ArcSight Common Event Format (CEF) Certification.

Businesses today require IT support when they need it and only when they need it. That is the benefit of cloud computing and also the challenge. The adoption of cloud infrastructure creates new security and compliance burdens. Security and compliance teams need extensive controls and processes built on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and seek to extend those investments to audit complex, highly dynamic cloud environments. The completion of CloudPassage-s Halo CEF certification unlocks the ability for these enterprise teams to gain deep visibility into cloud infrastructure systems anywhere, including virtualized, private cloud, public cloud, and even traditional hardware devices.

CloudPassage-s Halo security platform interoperates with the HP ArcSight Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution to streamline the detection and transmission of critical security events from cloud workloads. Halo-s SaaS-based architecture and supporting grid provide a single collection point allowing security operation teams to leverage SIEM more effectively for compliance, and, ultimately, making it possible to implement cloud strategies faster.

Cloud security events from Halo include changed file signatures, modified software configurations, altered firewall settings, and missing devices among others. The interoperability between Halo and HP ArcSight is facilitated through the Halo Event Connector.

A configuration guide is also available on the HP ArcSight user community site:

“As companies expand their use of cloud infrastructure, extending their established security and compliance capabilities is vital for managing risk and affordably maintaining compliance,” said Carson Sweet, CEO of CloudPassage. “The CEF certification allows enterprises using HP ArcSight to tap into security and compliance data from any cloud instance, anywhere.”
