WASHINGTON, DC — (Marketwired) — 10/17/13 — Today announced it will convene a multi-stakeholder workshop titled , a symposium focused on reviewing the impact of domain name collisions resulting from the delegation of new generic top-level domains (gTLDs).
During the workshop experts from around the world will share a technical analysis of the likelihood of domain name collisions and potential consequences, review ICANN-s risk mitigation, plan and discuss the implications for corporations, small businesses, home networks and their service providers, such as systems integrators and Internet Service Providers.
The goals of the workshop are to promote a collaborative dialog reviewing plans to help assure network operators are sufficiently equipped to address the risks, review potential legal implications and liabilities, review best practices to mitigate and remediate the impact of name of the threat and review outreach strategies to reach the millions of businesses who risk being impacted.
Leading experts in the ISP, security, software, internet infrastructure, consumer protection including academia and the public and private sectors. Invited and confirmed speakers include executives of British Telecommunications, the Chertoff Group, ICANN, Interisle Consulting OTA, US Telecom, Verizon, Verisign among others.
