1st Annual Canadian Fashion Forecast Runway Show and After Party Combining Hot New Designers and Prestigious Brands to Benefit the Academy of Design Through the “Future of Fashion” Scholarship

The 1st annual Canadian Fashion Forecast runway show and after party was a night to remember. This signature event benefitted the “Future of Fashion” scholarship, initiated by the hangrz.com board of directors. This year-s event was held at the ominous Fiction Club located at 180 Pearl Street and the actual venue location wasn-t released until the morning of the event on the hangrz.com website.

The inaugural show highlighted a cast of local Canadian based talent, including the launch of new Canadian brands, which included the much anticipated Mayana Geneviere collection. Mayana Geneviere-s high luxury intimate apparel brand closes the gap between high fashion lingerie and maternity undergarments. The show also highlight some new designs by TetianaK clothing with accessory sponsors being RisKandy and Boa Accessories.

The event area was breathtakingly staged by White Lace Events with art work provided by Norman Felix Art Gallery. Additional assisting brands included the launch of the La Stylist mobile haircare service brand along with Benjamin Daedfyshe Footwear, Popcorn Studios, Yeh! Yogurt and Cafe, Bite Bar, Curio Print, Trebas Insitute Toronto, Safe Mortgages and Diva Cup.

The night began with the VIPs taking some time to mingle in the VIP room prior to the show-s launch. The night was hosted by local celebrity comedian Jay Clapham, who worked the crowd and helped spark interest prior to the show. Once the show was in full swing, the audience sat back and enjoyed both runway shows and a special spoken word performance by Toronto-s own Lishai Peel. The VIPs were then taken back to the VIP room for a special additional performance by Lishai before the art auction, which only included works by Canadian based artists to stay with the Canadian theme of the night. All guests were treated to mimosas and a signature frozen yogurt by Yeh! Yogurt and Cafe, which was made specifically for the event.

The afterparty kicked into gear with the Toronto Argonauts Cheerleaders joining the event and taking pictures with guests. The sounds of DJ Ikhan rang through the venue as everyone took a moment to celebrate the gathering of Canadian designers and brands. The night was a huge success as the mission statement of bringing light and spurring economic growth in the Canadian fashion industry was met.
