SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/24/13 — Frankly (), a next generation texting app that empowers people to speak freely and anonymously, announced today that Jules Polonetsky, Internet privacy expert and executive director and co-chair of the Future of Privacy Forum, has joined its advisory board. Jules- expertise will specifically help Frankly advocate mobile privacy and the consumer right to delete digital content.

Since 2008, Polonetsky has led the Future of Privacy Forum, a think tank seeking to improve the state of online privacy by advancing responsible data practices and works to advance transparency and control concerning online, mobile and social initiatives, among others. Previously, Polonetsky served as Chief Privacy Officer and SVP for Consumer Advocacy at AOL and as Chief Privacy Officer and Special Counsel for DoubleClick. Prior to that, he served as the NYC Consumer Affairs Commissioner for Mayor Rudy Guliani and was an elected member of the New York State Assembly.

Frankly works just like standard texting and photo messaging, however, the message disappears completely after the recipient views it. Messages and photos that are sent through Frankly are encrypted and visually obscured, and recipients must click on the message for it to be readable.
