Digital First Media Sells San Jose Mercury News Campus to Super Micro Computer

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 10/31/13 — today announced the completion of the sale of the nearly 36-acre campus to Super Micro Computer, Inc.

The Company first announced the sale agreement with Super Micro Computer, Inc., a global leader in high-performance, high-efficiency server, storage technology and green computing, in September.

“This is a big step forward in Digital First Media-s ongoing digital transformation. We will continue to work to identify the best possible space for the San Jose Mercury News- newsgathering, sales and operation units going forward,” said Steve Rossi, President and Publisher of the . “We are proud to have found a partner in this sale in Super Micro Computer that is also invested in our community.”

The sale agreement includes the 35.68-acre campus — currently home to the San Jose Mercury News and Bay Area News Group, including the 312,000-square-foot main building and 12,000-square foot garage.

The San Jose Mercury News will continue to occupy the building and plans to relocate operations in 2014.
