THOUSAND OAKS, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/04/13 — Xirrus, the leader in high-performance wireless networks, today announced the appointment of George Frie as chief revenue officer (CRO). As chief revenue officer at Xirrus, Frie will lead both the short- and long-term revenue growth plans of the company. He will drive sales and marketing alignment to support aggressive corporate and revenue strategy goals. In addition, he will direct customer support, IT, sales operations, and the technical-training teams.

Most recently, as chief financial officer at Aerohive Networks, Frie worked alongside the sales and marketing teams to propel company growth while also directing the finance, operations, legal and human resources functions.

Frie previously held a number of leadership positions in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa at NetScreen Technologies, a firewall and virtual private network (VPN) company. Following a successful $2 billion IPO, NetScreen Technologies was acquired by Juniper Networks for $4 billion. He later served as chief financial officer and vice president, Asia-Pacific, at Solid Information Technologies which was acquired by IBM. Frie holds degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Saint Thomas.
